Dear Hugo
Hamilton,
We are a
group of 17 students from Parc Chabrières secondary school. We are 18 years old
and we study literature in English in one of our classes.
For the
second year, we are taking part in les Assises Internationales du Roman which
take place every year in our city. We worked on Helen Oyeyemi’s White Is For
Witching last year.
This year
we are working on your autobiographical
novel : The Speckled People and we’ll be happy to meet you in May in
Lyon.
We would
also be delighted if you agreed to communicate with us before we meet and
answer some of our questions.
We are
looking forward to hearing from you.
Best
regards,
The
students from Terminale L.
Questions:
1- Do you feel closer to Germany or
Ireland?
2- Was bilingualism an obstacle or an
asset for you?
3- Would you like to see a film version
of your book?
